Jenn and Ilea share the lab's research at summer conferences

Plant Biology 2020 Worldwide Summit

Jenn presented research from Maël, Jana, Rolin, Claire and Nate on natural diversity in HopZ1a recognition at the concurrent session in Plant-Microbe Interactions at the Plant Biology 2020 Worldwide Summit. This research was performed in collaboration with Dr. Andrei-Jose Petrescu and Eliza Martin (Institute of Biochemistry of the Romanian Academy, Romania), Dr. Chelsea Specht (Cornell University) and Dr. Chodon Sass (UC Berkeley). Ilea presented a poster on our tomato work from herself, Jana, and undergraduate students, Jamie, Lizz and Steven, which describes new sources of genetic resistance to Pseudomonas syringae. Ilea also gave a talk at Psyringae2020 on our collaborative project with Dr. Joe Bondy-Denomy's lab (UCSF) which uses CRISPR-Cas3 to generate effector cluster deletions in P. syringae.
