Our review on the molecular mechanisms of effector recognition in plants is now out in Seminars in Cell and Developmental Biology and was co-authored by Karl, Mael, Jana and Jenn. We discuss several well-characterized examples of effector recognition in plants, including recognition of HopZ1a by ZED1/ZAR1. This is part of a special issue on Plant Immunity.
